If you have any questions about the work, please contact the Utility Department at 734-426-4572.
Please call the Utility Department's on-call number - 734-368-5212 - immediately if you see anyone besides the City of Dexter (in a marked red vehicle) or the Dexter Area Fire Department using a City fire hydrant. It is against City Ordinance to use a fire hydrant without City permission. Contractors who need water for projects can contact the Utility Department at 734-426-4572 to make arrangements to purchase water.

Ballots will be mailed out at the end of September to those who have submitted applications. If you anticipate that you will need an absentee ballot, please do not wait to request one.
If you know of a friend or family member that is away at college who would like to vote in November, please have him or her request an absentee ballot immediately. If the student registered to vote by mail, he or she must vote in person at their first election and cannot receive an absentee ballot.
Please keep in mind that it is against State of Michigan election law for the Clerk to give an absentee ballot over the counter to someone other than the person whose name is on the ballot. It has been in the news recently that the State of Michigan is testing all drinking water systems for chemical substances known as PFAS/PFOS/PFOA. The City of Dexter received our results today (September 6, 2018) and we are pleased to report that these chemicals were not detected in our drinking water. Samples were taken of the water coming from the Ryan Drive wellfield and the well near Dexter High School.
For more information on these chemicals and the State of Michigan’s response, please visit - https://www.michigan.gov/pfasresponse/. It will take about 48 hours for the City’s results to be included in the online database of test results provided on this website.
