Washtenaw Urban County Survey
November 27, 2019 3:45 pm — courtneyNEach year, the Washtenaw Urban County develops an Action Plan to specify projects and programs activities that the County intends to implement with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds in order to address housing and community development needs in the Urban County (including the City of Dexter). They have issued a survey to provide a way for County residents to give real-time input about non-housing needs in their community and neighborhood.
Trash Collection/Leaf Pick Up Reminders
November 27, 2019 3:44 pm — courtneyNAll items to be picked up as trash and recycling must be placed inside the green toters. Boxes should be broken down and placed inside the recycle toter.
Waste Management will collect one bulk item per month on the first Monday of the month. The next opportunity to set out a bulk item will be Monday, December 2, 2019.
Dexter Area Historical Society Events
November 27, 2019 3:43 pm — courtneyNThe Dexter Area Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring several holiday events in December, including the Woodland Wonderland Fundraiser (Friday, December 6 at 6:30 pm), Christmas at the Mansion (Saturday, December 7 from 9 am to 5 pm), display of the Christmas Village Collection at Gordon Hall (December 13, 14, 21, 28 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm), a Christmas Tea at Gordon Hall (Sunday, December 8 at 1 pm and 4 pm), and a Holiday Bazaar at the Museum (Saturday, December 7 from 9 am to 3 pm).
Last Day for Bagged Yard Waste Pick-Up by Waste Management
November 22, 2019 11:09 am — justinBMonday, November 25, 2019 will be the last day of bagged compost pick-up by Waste Management. Please make sure to set all remaining bags out for collection.
Leaf collection by the Department of Public Works (DPW) will continue until the week of December 9, 2019.
DTE - Planned Power Outage (Monday, November 18, 2019)
November 15, 2019 3:18 pm — courtneyNDTE has been notifying customers in the downtown area of the City that there will be a scheduled power outage the morning of Monday, November 18, 2019. DTE does these notifications via phone call to the phone number listed on the account for that address. The outages are expected to be brief and to occur within the time period provided by DTE in their messages.
Luminaria Workshop
November 14, 2019 9:24 am — courtneyNThe workshop to assemble kits for the 2019 Luminaria will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the City DPW located at 3600 Central St. Assembly begins at 9:00 am. Those interested in helping to deliver the kits should arrive at 10:00 am. The goal is to provide supplies to all City neighborhoods, which requires a significant volunteer effort.

Central Street Re-Opened to Traffic
November 7, 2019 2:08 pm — courtneyNCentral Street has reopened to traffic as of 2 pm today (November 7, 2019). Due to the low temperatures and precipitation, some of the pavement markings were not able to be completed. These will likely not be finished until Spring. We thank the community for your patience during this project.
