The City of Dexter is seeking candidates to fill a part-time, temporary summer position. This position is with the Department of Public Utilities and the primary task will be painting fire hydrants and other water system assets. The position may also include assistance with general maintenance. Work hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 1 through September (depending on availability). Starting pay is $10 per hour. Applicants must be 18 or older.
As of today, Wednesday, May 22, 2019, the work on the water tower has been completed and it has been brought back into service. With this work finished, the complete outdoor watering ban that has been in effect since April 1st is now lifted and City residents and businesses will return to the normal watering restrictions. Outdoor watering continues to be prohibited every day between 6:00 am - 10:00 am. Outdoor water usage is also restricted to odd/even days.
