DTE Gas Main Location Project
October 26, 2018 11:44 am — courtneyNIn preparation for the 2019 Central Street road reconstruction project, DTE will be locating their gas mains in the following areas: Central between Monument Park and Third Street, Fifth between Broad and Central and Fourth between Central and Dover. Work is expected to start October 29, 2018 and will require DTE to dig small holes in certain areas to determine the exact location and depth of their gas mains. This work will occur in the road right of way. In some cases, this may require temporarily closures of lanes with flag control.
Grand Street Parking Lane Paving
October 22, 2018 9:41 am — courtneyNThe final paving of the parking lane on Grand Street between Baker and Broad is scheduled to be completed on October 23, 2018.
Crack Seal Project
October 19, 2018 10:06 am — courtneyNCrack seal work in Huron Farms/Orchard River Hills will continue on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The contractor has approximately one half day left of work to finish in this area. This work is not expected to have a significant impact on residents or commuting traffic. Please proceed carefully through work zones.
City Council Member Appointment
October 12, 2018 12:43 pm — courtneyNAt the November 12, 2018 City Council meeting, Scott Bell was appointed by Council to fill the term that was vacated by Ray Tell. Council Member Bell's term expires in November 2020. The City would like to thank all 13 candidates who applied to fill the vacancy.
Jeffords Road Closure
October 10, 2018 1:19 pm — courtneyNJeffords Road from the alley (behind the PNC/Hackney Hardware) to the corner of Forest and Broad will be closed starting October 11, 2018. The road is expected to remain closed until November 8, 2018. The roadway will be open on Sundays during the closure. The alley (behind the PNC/Hackney) will remain open.
2018 Sidewalk Project
October 10, 2018 1:18 pm — courtneyNThe contractor for the 2018 sidewalk project will be back in the community tomorrow (Thursday, October 11, 2018) to make some necessary repairs to the intersection ramps listed below. Please proceed with caution through project areas.

Traffic Counters
October 10, 2018 1:18 pm — courtneyNDexter Community Schools is conducting traffic and pedestrian counts on Dan Hoey between Baker and Ann Arbor Street and on Baker between Dan Hoey and Hudson. The counts are done with cameras that are mounted to sign posts. The data collection is expected to be completed by October 15, 2018.
Bagged Yard Waste Collection
October 4, 2018 10:25 am — courtneyNLoose leaf collection via the DPW vacuum truck has ended. Leaves can be bagged for pick up by the DPW on December 26th, January 9th and January 23rd (weather permitting). Bagged leaves should be put out to the curb by 7 am.
No bagged yard waste will be collected in February or March. Waste Management will resume bagged yard waste pick up on Monday, April 1, 2019.
