A hawker/peddler permit to go door-to-door in the City until 6 p.m. tonight has been issued to Just Energy. The permit is good on March 30, 2015 only.
The City of Dexter has received a $216,000 grant from MDOT’s Safe Route to School Program. A summary of the projects that will be funded by the grant is as follows.

The City of Dexter is seeking four paid precinct workers for the May 5, 2015 election. Residents interested in having a tree planted in their lawn extension can participate in our 2015 Tree Planting Program. Please complete and return the form by Thursday, April 2, 2015. Yard waste collection by Waste Management will begin Friday, April 3, 2015. Residents may use paper yard waste bags or containers up to 32-gallons in capacity marked with yard waste stickers (50-pound weight limit). Yard waste stickers are available at the City Office.
Brush and branches that are 4 inches in diameter or less in 3 - 4 foot long must be bundled
with string. Contact the City Office if you are not able to bundle your brush, or for branches over 4’ in length or 4” in diameter.
Tickets are now on sale for the 5th annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Thanks to our generous sponsors, the first 100 tickets will be available free of charge. Tickets can be purchased at the City Offices, 8123 Main St., 2nd Floor. Once those are sold, the fee will be $2 per child/$4 for two or more children. On the Day of the event, the fee will be $3 per child/$5 for two or more children.

The Monument Park Ice Rink is closed for the season.
Washtenaw County’s 81 warning sirens (including those in the City of Dexter) will be tested at Noon on the first Saturday of every month from March through October. If there is a threat of severe weather on the day of a test, it will be cancelled.
Except for scheduled testing, the sirens will be activated for the following emergencies:
• The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning
• A severe thunderstorm has been detected with damaging winds in excess of 70 MPH
