Over the past several weeks members of the City Charter Commission, Village Council and staff have been asked questions relative to the impact of adopting the new City Charter on property values and the millage rate. The following information is being provided to clarify those impacts.
Leaf pick-up by the Department of Public Works (DPW) has started. The DPW will be focusing on leaf pick-up on Monday and Tuesday of each week (weather permitting). Please do not put any debris (garbage, sticks, etc) in the leaf piles and please do not rake leaves into the road, ditches, storm drains, or parking spots. Waste Management will continue to pick up compost bags through Saturday, November 29, 2014 (due to the Thanksgiving holiday).
Fall hydrant flushing in the Village will continue over the next two weeks.

The Village of Dexter is seeking a full-time Assistant to the Village Manager, to be a part of the Village’s Administrative Team. Specific responsibilities include acting as the staff liaison to the Parks & Recreation Commission and Farmers Market (including grant writing for both groups), assistance with purchasing, website maintenance, and providing project support to all Village departments. Additional Clerk’s duties could also be assigned based on the outcome of the November 4, 2014 city incorporation election.

Paving of Dover, Edison, Inverness, Second, Cushing Court, Fifth from Edison to Dover, Central from Main to Fifth and Huron from Broad to Central is scheduled to occur on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25. Intermittent road or lane closures will be necessary as the paving is completed.

Please remember that political signs must not be placed in the Village right-of-way which is generally the area between the sidewalk and the curb in front of your home/business. If you do not have a sidewalk, please keep the sign closer to your home/business than the road.
