Last Day to Register to Vote
Tuesday, October 9, 2018 is the last day to register to vote for the November 6, 2018 election. Voter registration forms can be turned in at the City Office located at 8123 Main (2nd floor of the PNC Bank) until 5 pm. To verify your voter registration status, please call 734-580-2234 or visit http://www.michigan.gov/vote.
If you did not vote in the August Primary, please check to make sure you know your polling location. This can be done by visiting www.michigan.gov/vote.
Absentee Ballot Requests
Absentee ballot applications for the November 6, 2018 Election are available at the City Offices or by contacting Assistant to the City Manager/City Clerk Justin Breyer at 734-580-2234 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Ballots will be mailed out at the end of September to those who have submitted applications. If you anticipate that you will need an absentee ballot, please do not wait to request one.
If you know of a friend or family member that is away at college who would like to vote in November, please have him or her request an absentee ballot immediately. If the student registered to vote by mail, he or she must vote in person at their first election and cannot receive an absentee ballot.
Please keep in mind that it is against State of Michigan election law for the Clerk to give an absentee ballot over the counter to someone other than the person whose name is on the ballot. Receiving an absentee ballot in person at the City Office carries the same identification requirements as voting at the polls on Election Day.
