Christmas Tree collection by the Department of Public Works will begin Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Please place the tree at the curb, do not bag it and make sure all tinsel, lights and ornaments have been removed.
The City's contractor, West Shore Services, is scheduled to perform preventative maintenance on the outdoor warning sirens in the City the week of December 31st. As part of the maintenance, the sirens will be activated for a brief period of time.
Luminary kits for 2018 have been distributed for use the evening of December 24th. The first rain date is the evening of December 25th; the second is the evening of December 31st. The Luminaria is funded and executed through generous donations from the community. Please keep the lights shining - consider make a donation to support the luminaria by mailing or dropping off your contribution to the City of Dexter at 8123 Main (please indicate luminaria on the check).
As part of the Grandview Commons condominium project, a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) has been installed at the intersection of Baker and Grand. The RRFB can be activated by a pedestrian to increase driver awareness of people who want to cross Baker at the existing crosswalk at Grand Street. Baker is 3 lanes wide at this location and caution should be used whenever using this new device or crossing at this location.
The ice rink in Monument Park has been installed. Opening day will be announced on the website, e-mail update and Facebook page. Please do not use the rink until it has been officially opened to avoid damaging the liner.
