The entrance to the Border to Border Trail located behind the Fire Station in Mill Creek Park North (near the two sided stone kiosk) will be closed on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 7 am to 11 am for the installation of a pedestrian/bicycle counter.

The 4th Annual Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival will begin on Monday, August 15, 2016. Artists will be painting outdoors throughout Dexter. The artwork will be for sale under the tent in Monument Park by silent auction on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 2 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 9 am to 2:30 pm. In preparation for this fall's Presidential Election the City would like to encourage the Dexter High School Class of 2016 to register to vote and/or request an absentee ballot before leaving for college. In order to be eligible to vote, the student must be 18 by November 8, 2016 and the registration has to be submitted 30 days prior to the election. If the student needs an absentee ballot for the November Election, he or she must register to vote in person at a City/Township Office or at the Secretary of State.
Due to a power issue at the Dexter Senior Center, tonight's Council meeting will be relocated to the cafeteria at Creekside Intermediate School - 2615 Baker. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm.

The results for the Tuesday, August 2nd Primary Election have been posted on the Washtenaw County Clerk's website at: http://electionresults.ewashtenaw.org/electionreporting/aug2016/index.jsp. County-wide voter turnout averaged 17.73%. In the City of Dexter, 618 voters cast a ballot for a 19.96% voter turnout.
Re-striping of parking spaces and parking lots throughout the City will begin on Sunday, August 7, 2016 (weather permitting). A majority of the work will be completed on Sunday due to the lower traffic volumes.
