We hope that all Dexter residents and business owners enjoyed the 2015 Luminaria on Christmas Eve. The Luminaria is funded and executed through generous donations from the community. Please keep the lights shining- consider make a donation to support the Luminaria by mailing or dropping off your contribution to the City of Dexter at 8123 Main (please indicate Luminaria on the check). The goal for 2016 is to expand the display into all City neighborhoods.
Christmas Tree collection by the Department of Public Works will begin the week of January 4th. Please do not bag your trees and make sure all tinsel and ornaments have been removed.
The installation process has started for the ice rink in Monument Park. Opening day will be announced on the website, e-mail update and Facebook page. Please do not use the rink until it has been officially opened to avoid damaging the liner.
Trash & recycle collection will be delayed until Saturday the week of December 21, 2015 and December 28, 2015.
Thanks to a cooperative effort between the City of Dexter and the Dexter Post Office a drive up mailbox will be installed in the roadway island on Meadowview off of Dexter Ann Arbor Road. This mailbox will allow residents to deposit their mail without leaving their vehicle. The Post Office's plan is to relocate the mailbox currently located at the Dexter Crossing Shopping Center because it is the least used box in the service area. The installation of the concrete pad is scheduled to occur the week of December 14th.
