School starts September 3, 2013. Please be prepared for increased vehicle, bus and pedestrian traffic in and around the Village. School hours are as follows:

Creekside/High School - 8:00 a.m. to 2:51 p.m. (11:25 a.m. on half days)

All other schools - 8:15 a.m. to 3:06 p.m. (11:40 a.m. on half days)

Update on Path to Dexter Huron Metropark

Washtenaw County Parks has submitted a project site plan for completion of the Border to Border River Terrace Trail (Dexter Huron Park to Central Street) to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for review.  Due to the proximity of the trail to the railroad and MDOT’s ownership of the railroad MDOT approval is required.  The trail alignment has been preliminary determined and Washtenaw County is waiting for MDOT approval prior to proceeding with construction.  It has been indicated by MDOT that their review will be completed within the next few weeks and additional

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 1st Annual Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival. We appreciate the community's efforts to make the 48 artists feel welcome as they painted around Dexter. The festival was a great success because of the talented artists and the support of the community. August 13th is the first day of registration for the Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival. Throughout the week artists will be painting on canvasses throughout the Dexter community. The Schedule of Events is provided below. The public is welcome to attend these free activities.

Survey crews from Orchard, Hiltz & McCliment are conducting a survey of Ann Arbor Street between Kensington and Baker in preparation for next summer's resurfacing and water main replacement project. Residents in the impacted areas will be provided with more information as the design of the project progresses this fall.

Central Street from Main to 5th Street will be closed starting Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Jeffords from Forest to the alley behind the BP gas station will be closed starting Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. For more information about the event visit http://dexterdaze.org/
