Public Hearing - Zoning Board of Appeals
Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018. The hearing will take place at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor Street, Dexter, Michigan. The purpose of hearing is to take public comments regarding the following variance application (click here to view application):
The applicant, Michael Szeles, is requesting the following variance in order to construct a second-floor addition to an existing, non-conforming single-family home, which is located at 7668 Grand Street (08-08-06-425-004):
- A 6-foot variance from the 10-foot side yard setback required by Section 20.01 of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance.
The applicant is requesting the variance due to practical difficulties associated with the property. If granted, the variance will allow a 4-foot side-yard setback from the northwestern property line.
According to Section 4.05(E)(2) of the Zoning Ordinance, non-conforming structures in any zoning district may be expanded only after approval by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 8123 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Any questions regarding the rezoning application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2235.
Interested parties are welcome to attend the public hearing and present their comments. Written comments regarding the proposal should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to email@example.com, and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2018.
