Public Hearing - Zoning Board of Appeals

Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, December 18, 2017.  The hearing will take place at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor Street, Dexter, Michigan.  The purpose of hearing is to take public comments regarding the following variance application:

The applicant, William Edwards is requesting the following variance for property located at 7580 Third Street (08-08-05-260-001):

  • A 13.4-foot variance from the 15-foot front yard setback requirement in Section 20.01 of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance.

If granted, a 1-foot 6-inch front yard setback from the northern property line (Inverness Street frontage) would be allowed. 

The applicant is requesting the variance due to practical difficulties associated with the property.

The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 8123 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and can be viewed by clicking here.  Any questions regarding the rezoning application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2233.

Interested parties are welcome to attend the public hearing and present their comments.  Written comments regarding the proposal should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to maniol@dextermi.gov, and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2017.
