Public Hearing - Planning Commission

Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended (the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act), notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018, for the purpose of considering a special land use application.  The public hearing will be held at the Dexter Senior Center, 7720 Ann Arbor Street, Dexter, Michigan.

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a special land use application submitted by Larry Zahn, on behalf of the Encore Musical Theatre, to allow temporary employment housing at 3479 Central Street.  The subject site is zoned VR Village Residential District.  The Planning Commission determined the proposed temporary employment housing use was compatible with uses in the VR Zoning District, in accordance with Section 3.07 of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance.

Copies of the plans and application are available for public inspection at the City Offices, 8123 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The application can also be accessed by clicking here. Interested parties are welcome to attend the public hearing and present their comments.  Written comments regarding the proposed amendments should be submitted to the Office of Community Development at the address listed above or via email to, and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
