Shield Road Bridge Replacement Project Public Meeting

June 6, 2017 6:00 pm

The Washtenaw County Road Commission will host a public meeting regarding the Shield Road Bridge Replacement Project on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 6 pm in the Mill Creek Middle School Cafeteria (7305 Dexter Ann Arbor).

Public Hearing - Planning Commission

June 5, 2017 7:00 pm


The purpose of the first public hearing is to consider a special land use application submitted by Chris Jones, on behalf of the Dexter Creamery, for an outdoor eating area at 8106 Main Street (08-08-06-205-020).  The subject site is zoned CBD Central Business District.  Outdoor eating areas are permitted in the CBD Central Business District with special land use approval.

Dexter Ann Arbor Run

June 4, 2017 8:00 am

The Dexter-Ann Arbor Run will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 starting at 8:30 a.m. The starting line is at Baker and Dan Hoey. Roads will be closed as the runners travel down Baker to Shield to Dexter-Chelsea to Main to Central (approximately 8:30 am to 9:30 am). Outdoor Warning Siren Test

June 3, 2017 12:00 pm

Washtenaw County’s 87 warning sirens (including those in the City of Dexter) will be tested at Noon on the first Saturday of every month from March through October. If there is a threat of severe weather on the day of a test, it will be cancelled. 

Except for scheduled testing, the sirens will be activated for the following emergencies: 

• The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning 

• A severe thunderstorm has been detected with damaging winds in excess of 70 MPH 

Tour De Cure

June 3, 2017 (All day)

The Tour De Cure cycling event will ride through Dexter intermittently between the hours of 6:30 am to 2 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Roads will not be closed.

Trash Collection

June 3, 2017 (All day)

Residential trash collection will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 due to the Memorial Day Holiday.
